Rolex New Releases 2024 – Watches and Wonders, by the Local Kettle Brothers

Rolex steals the spotlight with their new legendary 2024 release.

“These new releases bring a fresh look and new interesting perspective into Rolex most iconic models. My personal favourite being the new Day-Date 40 introduces a slate ombré dial”.  – Sir-Folliot Francis Quarm.

Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II

Introducing two new Oystersteel versions of the GMT-Master II by Rolex. Featuring a 24-hour graduated bi-color Cerachrome bezel in sleek grey and black ceramic. Choose between an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet option. Notably, the 24-hour hand and GMT-Master II text on the dial are now adorned in green, marking a subtle yet impactful change.

Day-Date

Once more, subtle yet captivating updates grace the latest models. The 40mm 18-carat Everose gold edition now flaunts a mesmerizing slate ombré dial, transitioning gracefully from dark to light with a radiant sunburst effect at its center. Rolex aptly dubs this visual journey a “symphony of shade.” The Roman numeral indices undergo a deconstructed transformation, enhancing their presence on the dial and harmonizing with the angles of the fluted bezel, both crafted in 18-carat pink gold.

In the second Day-Date release, another 40mm variant boasts a Mother-of-Pearl dial, a debut for this material in a Rolex Day-Date. The pristine white pearlescent surface exhibits remarkable iridescence, casting a kaleidoscope of colors. Ten baguette-cut diamonds grace this model in place of traditional hour markers.

Expanding the collection further, two new 36mm renditions emerge. One gleams in 18-carat yellow gold, echoing the deconstructed indices seen in its larger counterparts. The other iteration, also in 18-carat yellow gold, bedecks the dial with 60 dazzling diamonds and a captivating blue-green hue.

1908 Rolex

Undoubtedly, the 1908 stands as one of Rolex’s most visually captivating timepieces, and the 2024 iteration maintains this tradition admirably. Now presented in luxurious 950 platinum, this 39mm marvel features a dial adorned with a mesmerizing guillochage rice green motif. When illuminated, the intricate pattern dazzles, elevating its allure within the collection.

Rarely does a Rolex offer an exhibition case back, making the view of the movement a cherished experience. The 1908 boasts the new caliber 7140, meticulously adorned and imbued with all the technical prowess expected from an in-house Rolex movement, ensuring both aesthetic elegance and precision engineering.

Cosmograph Daytona

Rolex unveils two new iterations of the Daytona, veering towards a distinctly dressy aesthetic, a departure from its motorsport roots. Embracing opulence, both models boast Mother-of-Pearl dials, alternating between black and white hues, adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds.

Termed as reinterpretations by Rolex, these timepieces are crafted entirely from 18-carat gold, ruling out the possibility of a more accessible entry-level option. The Mother-of-Pearl dials undergo slight re-spacing for improved legibility, while each watch dazzles with 36 diamonds.

At the heart of these luxurious timepieces beats the Calibre 4131. With a price tag exceeding £50,000, these Daytons epitomize exclusivity, destined for the wrists of the privileged few.

Sky-Dweller

Finally, we have the 2024 Sky-Dweller. Available for the first time with the Jubilee bracelet and in 18-carat Everose or yellow gold. The links on the Jubilee bracelet have been very slightly redesigned to complement the complex dial style of the Sky-Dweller which again highlights Rolex’s exceptional attention to detail. Whether you’d notice this without being told is another matter. The 42mm watch is available with new dial colours, which are grey, brown, and blue sunburst.

That’s a round up of our review of the introduction of Rolex’s 2024 releases. Which is your favourite?
